Bullfinch Mittens

Pattern by Jorid Linvik

I am a big fan of Bullfinches so when I saw these mittens, I just had to knit them, so I did. But it didn’t go as planed, because when it was time to pick up for the thumb, something went horrible wrong and it ended up being ripped up, the whole thing and after that I just lost interest for a year. But this year I picked it up again and learned from my mistake and finished them. I am SO pleased with them and they are so warm.

I never thought that I could knit a pattern like this but I really wanted them so I just went for it, and I’m glad I did. I have learnt so much by making them and that will just help me in the future in the next pair I will make.

Bullfinch Mittens

Now this I couldn’t resist to try out. I love Bullfinches and I want to learn colourwork knitting and fair Isle knitting. So I just had to give in and ordered the yarn in November 2020. I had other things already on my needles that I wanted to finishing first before I stuck into these beauties.

But now I have started them and so far so good. I just hope that I will manage to finish them, so wish me luck!

You can find the pattern on Ravelry or on their webpage.

Happy Knitting!

Jorids Vantar (Mittens)

One lady in my Facebook group showed me some lovely pair of mittens that I fell in love with, mainly because of the Bullfinches, so I wanted to make these myself and ordered the yarn. I have no idea when it will happen because Christmas is soon here and it’s colourwork and I have the Stitch In Time Blanket that I want to finish first. But I did order the yarn for them so at least I have that when I’m ready.
